After Yadav's meeting with Indian officials, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said in a statement that he had met the diplomats repeatedly but they did not listen to him and left.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that all necessary steps were taken as per the need for consular access and two Indian diplomats were given consular access.

He said consular access was granted by consensus but "India's malice was exposed, they did not want consular access."

Shah Mehmood Qureshi further said that diplomats do not need to talk to Clubbhushan so why did they ask for access.

It was also removed. Diplomats objected to audio and video recordings. We didn't do that. We fulfilled all the wishes of the Indian diplomats, but they left.

Earlier, the Pakistani Foreign Office had said in a statement that consular access had been granted for the second time to meet Indian spy Kulbhushan Jhadu.

According to Foreign Office spokesperson Ayesha Farooqi, the meeting lasted for about two hours during which Indian officials were given an opportunity to speak openly with Kulbhushan Jhadu.

Ayesha Farooqi said that a few days ago, India had requested for consular access which was accepted by Pakistan.

Earlier, the first consular access to Kulbhushan Yadav was granted on September 2, 2019 under the Vienna Convention, while in December 2017, Kulbhushan Jhadu's wife and mother also met him.

It may be recalled that on June 17 last month, Kulbhushan Yadav was invited to file an appeal for review but Kulbhushan Yadav refused to do so.

On which the Foreign Office had said that despite the refusal of Clubbhushan Jhadu, the Indian government could file an appeal through the Indian High Commission.

On May 20, Pakistan enacted the ICJ Review and Reconciliation Ordinance, which allows Clubbhushan Jhadu or his lawyers to file a mercy petition within 60 days of the ordinance's issuance.

It should be noted that the Indian High Commission has till July 20 to file an appeal in the Islamabad High Court.
