The Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) has decided after hearing whether the ban on the online game Player Unknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) will be increased or lifted.
Earlier, the authority had issued hearing notices to all the respondents. He allowed them to join the meeting via video link due to the current status of the corona virus.
Meanwhile, #PTALiftBanOnPUBG is trending on Twitter as Social Media users demand Pakistan to lift the PUBG ban.
The Royal Game of Fighting was temporarily banned on July 1, children.
Petitions were filed in the Sindh High Court (SHC) and Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the ban.
On July 6, the IHC sent a petition to the PTA against the suspension of the online game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG).
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG), developed by a South Korean company, is a 2017 survival game in which players compete on an island.
The multiplayer game allows players from all over the world to compete against each other or in teams.
Players attack and kill each other in the game and the higher you win, the higher you get. It has received 34.2 million downloads worldwide so far.
However, on June 20, a 20-year-old man committed suicide in Saddar Bazaar, North Cantonment. Police said his parents stopped him from playing the game.
Some days ago, another person suicide was reported at Hanjarwal, Lahore, Punjab. Operations DIG Ashfaq Ahmad Khan said he found the young man's cell phone in the room and the PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) app was running on it.
