A new WhatsApp update will help users delete photos, videos, or gifs after they send someone else's phone, The Independent reported Tuesday.

Expired media feature, first seen on the website Vibata Info, disappears after viewing the media in a chat.
To enable the feature, the sender needs to select the "View Once" button when sending a photo, video or gif.
When it appears on the recipient's phone, it is visible as long as they are not in the chat.
When they choose to leave the chat, a message appears: This media will disappear after you leave the chat.
"Take a look when photos expire," says a pop-up bubble when they return to chat.
The feature is still in development as part of WhatsApp's beta for the Android 2.20.2011 version of the messaging app.
It is not yet clear when the new feature will be available to all users
